Challenges and Solutions
The retrofit nature of the project meant working within the limits of the existing building, including roof space, orientation, and structural capacity. At the same time, Ape Developments had ambitious sustainability targets and needed robust, verifiable data on carbon savings and renewable generation to support their environmental reporting.
The Solution
Our engineering team conducted a detailed site survey and structural analysis to ensure the design maximised solar exposure while meeting all load-bearing requirements. Custom mounting solutions were implemented to optimise available roof space. Additionally, advanced monitoring and reporting tools were integrated into the system, enabling real-time tracking of generation, usage, and CO₂ reductions, ensuring transparency and alignment with the client’s sustainability goals.
